SPWA unveils SHADOW magazine

Apparel Desk: Screen Print Welfare Association (SPWA), an organization of printing sector of country’s garment industry, unveiled its yearly magazine SHADOW on Friday, January 1 at Sector-7 Party Center in Azampur of capital’s Uttara, says a press release.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque was present as the chief guest while Md Sadrul Anam Mujkuri Sumon, President of SPWA, presided over the program.

In his keynote address, Minister AKM Mozammel Haque wished success and improvement to SPWA and assured all possible cooperation for the organization.

Engineer Md Safiqur Rahman, President, Textile Engineers and Technologists Institution, Helena Jahangir, Director, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FBCCI), AKM Golam Morshed Farooq, CEO of Impress Newtex Group, Debashis Kumar Biswas, Advisor, Esquire Group, ASM Hafizur Rahman, Advisor, RH Corporation, Amit K Biswas, Editor and Publisher, The Apparel News, SM Anwarul Karim, Deputy Director, District Social Services Office, Gazipur and Md Golam Quddus, Managing Director, Luna Fashion Limited were present as special guests on the occasion.

Engineer Md Safiqur Rahman said skilled manpower is needed to strengthen the printing sector. He urged to set up a training institute for this and advised to take initiative to buy land in the capital’s Purbachal area. He also assured further cooperation for the overall development of SPWA.

KM Nazrul Islam Jasim, Chief Adviser of SPWA, said a training institute will be set up soon in collaboration with UCEP as there is no formal educational institution in the printing sector. For this, he sought the cooperation of the owners of the garment sector.

Amit K Biswas gave importance to establish a permanent office and a permanent campus for running the training institute’s activities smoothly.

ASM Hafizur Rahman assured the training institute to use their computer lab to facilitate training for the trainees.

In the presentation of Saiful Islam, General Secretary and Md Golam Sarwar, Organizing Secretary of SPWA, UCEP Bangladesh representatives, Hussain, Managing Director of Color Way (a Turkish company), invited factory owners and representatives of various supplier companies were also present on the occasion.

Md Helal Uddin Ripon, the founding member of SPWA, gave the welcome speech. Md Monayem Khan, Vice President, Md Shahadat Hossain Sohag, Vice President, GHMK Zaman, Vice President, Md Omur Faruk, Finance Secretary, Md Yeasin Mollah Foreign Affairs Secretary, Raju Ahmed, Office Secretary, Md Belal Hossain, Co-Relief Secretary and Md Rezaul Kibria, Publicity and Publication Secretary of the SPWA and Editor of the magazine gave general speeches.

In concluding speech, Md Sadrul Anam Mujkuri Sumon highlighted the present activities and plans of the organization
