Masco Group hosts seminar on 'Steps Towards Sustainability'

BKD Abir: Masco Group, one of the leading knit composite conglomerates of the country, hosted a seminar on ‘Steps Towards Sustainability’ on Tuesday, 26 October at the sprawling-green rooftop-garden of Masco Printing & Embroidery Limited located in Tongi, Gazipur.

The programme was graced with the presence of M A Sabur, Chairman of Masco group and chief guest of the programme, Ahmed Arif Billah, Managing Director of Masco Group, Fahima Akhter and Farhana Akhter, Directors of Masco Group, and ATM Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury Milton, Executive Director of Masco Group. Senior officials of the different facilities of Masco Group were also present on the occasion.

The programme commenced with an opening speech by M A Sabur, Chairman of Masco group. ATM Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury Milton, Executive Director and President of the sustainability steering committee of Masco Group rendered a key note presentation with resourceful information regarding Masco Group’s initiatives in terms of maintaining sustainability.

During his presentation, Milton said, “We need single platform to comply with sustainable approaches. Due to different platforms with different standards, we sometimes face challenges in maintaining right sustainable approaches”. Milton also expressed his expert opinion on the importance of material sustainability, social sustainability and environmental sustainability in textile and apparel industries in terms of getting aligned with the Agenda 2030 for sustainable development.

The presentation session was followed by a panel discussion and a quiz session. All the sessions were anchored by Mohd. Shahin Miah, Sr. General Manager-HRAC of Masco group. The seminar was declared concluded by Fahima Akhter, Director of Masco group.

Through this seminar, Masco employees who were present at the seminar could receive a broader picture of Masco Group’s sustainable approaches, which would surely help them get more aligned with the group’s ongoing as well as future sustainable approaches.
