Day-long Training on EHS Compliance held in Dhaka

Staff Correspondent: A day-long training program on “EHS Compliance Management in Workplaces” was held at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh on January 18, 2019. This was organized by QHSE solutionBD, a consulting firm working on compliance, training and projects in Industries of Bangladesh.

Around 30 distinguished participants from renowned Pharmaceutical, Garments and Textile industries have attended in the session. Participants were from Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Orion Pharma, Biopharma, Asiatic Laboratories Ltd., Everest Pharma, Metro Knitting & Dyeing Mills Limited.

The main objective of this program was to disseminate information on basic HSE rules and management practices, Labour laws, rules and other laws for compliance in Industries, Ways of implementation of safe industrial processes and to minimize environmental impacts.

The key note speaker Mr. Sk. Md. Khurshed Alam, CEO and Chief Consultant, QHSE solutionBD presented the Key HSE management issues and their implementation scopes in detail.

The Labour law, rules and other regulations were discussed by Mr. Masud Al Mamun, Sr. HSE consultant & Mr. Gholam Muktadir, HSE, NEBOSH IGC Expert from Novartis Bangladesh Limited.

Dr. Md. Selim Reza, Professor and Former Chairman, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka and Consultant, QHSE solutionBD, had focused on “Quality by design issues in pharmaceutical formulations”.

Mr. Amit K. Biswas, Editor and Publisher, The Apparel News and DGM, Planning (Corporate) of Metro Knitting & Dyeing Mills Ltd presented his valuable presentation on Scope and implementation of ‘6S Japanese System in Industries’, which have impact on safety issues and applicable to all industrial concerns .

A workshop on “Risk Assessment” was held. The program ended by Q&A and feedback session as well as awarding of certificate to all participants.

Dr. Syed Shabbir Haider, Professor and Chairman, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka attended the program as the Guest of Honor and awarded certificates to the participants. The Managing Director and other directors from Biopharma Ltd were also present among other dignitaries.
