Special Correspondent: The day was a very pleasant one for The Apparel News as the country’s first bilingual newspaper on textile and RMG sector got some advisers as its guardians. The advisers are country’s legend personalities who are very successful in their own field like business, entrepreneurship, research, consultancy and media. Some of them are also internationally reputed personalities. Most of the hon’ble advisers have been with The Apparel News from the beginning. The newspaper’s journey became smooth getting their suggestions, guidance & blessings and it was quite possible to touch a benchmark of popularity among the readers within a period of only 11 months as they are with us.

For the honour of the Advisers, The Apparel News arranged a get-together programme at Hotel Abacus in Gulshan, Dhaka on 24 Nov, 2017 aiming a formal sitting and mutual exchanges among The Apparel News team. The programme was followed by a dinner.
The Editor & Publisher of The Apparel News Mr. Amit K. Biswas gave an introductory speech where he highlighted the background and necessity of establishing such a news media like The Apparel News and formally introduced the honourable Advisers to the audiences.
He said: “Necessity of establishing The Apparel News was felt as there was no standard newspaper in both Bangla and English languages in apparel sector. But it is the country’s top most industrial sector, which earns more than 80% of export income. So as a professional in this sector I took the decision to publish a newspaper as well as its online version, which would be dedicated for RMG sector.”

He warmly welcomed the Advisers and expressed gratitude to them.
The Advisory Editor of The Apparel News, legend media personality of the country, Editor of the daily Bhorer Kagoj Mr. Shyamal Dutta in his speech gave a distinguished mark to The Apparel News team. It is now a fortnightly publication but I would like to see The Apparel News print version as a daily one.”
Mr. Dutta also expressed his feelings regarding the essentiality of a news media like The Apparel News. “There are lots of untouched spaces in this sector that media can work with. Apparel sector is the main export earning source of Bangladesh. We have many achievements which are very very positive. So more research-based stories, more achievement-oriented stories should be focused in media particularly on this sector. And here The Apparel News has many things to do.”
He urged all the Advisers to cooperate more so that the newspaper can flourish further.
